10K Run – Saturday 27th September At last….Graham Crabb will be running in the Trossachs 10K this Saturday morning. As you may have seen from of the Facebook posts training has not exactly gone swimmingly….and he can’t wait to get it out of the way! As Graham says ‘This is definitely a one off event…I don’t see me moving on to half marathons or anything like that anytime soon!’
So far though, including online and paper donations as well as Gift Aid around £1300 has been raised towards the court fund. Still need much much more though so if you would like to sponsor him then please visit www.justgiving.com/altc10k Any donations gratefully received.
Free Coaching/Bouncy Castle/Annual Tournament Trophy Presentation – Sunday 28th September On that Sunday we will finally be presenting the trophies from the often cancelled tournament finals that were due to complete on 17th August. We need all winners and runners up there to receive their prizes – as well as all of the mini red and mini orange participants. The trophies will be presented at 3pm…but there will be some free coaching before that! From 1pm to 3pm Rhiann (plus helpers) will be offering free coaching to kids AND ADULTS…so – particularly the parents – if you have yet to try the game this is your chance.
Throughout the afternoon there will also be a bouncy castle (courtesy of Bouncing Hire – please check out their Facebook page ) This will hopefully keep the really young ones amused while the parents have a game. The tots/and mini tennis coaching will take place as normal afterwards from 3.30pm until 6pm
Coaching Camps – 7th / 9th October, 14th / 16th October During the October holidays there will be two junior tennis camps with Rhiann. All of the usual age groups will be catered for. Costs are £10 for members and £15 for non-members. Hopefully there will be half decent weather for it. Please see the attached flier for more details – Arbroath Oct Coaching Camp
Bank of Scotland Community Award Update – Finishes Midnight 10th October Arbroath LTC stands a chance of winning £3000 in the Bank of Scotland Community Fund Awards. The amount they might receive depends on the number of votes we receive through various channels – including Online, Twitter, Text and in branch.
We are now at the half way stage of this campaign …and are expecting some update as to how we are getting on shortly. In the meantime though we need you to keep pestering everyone you know to vote for us. If you have unlimited texts then why not send a text to everyone in your contacts list asking them to vote for us? On an iPhone you may well be restricted to 10 folk per text….although there are apps that let you text all contacts in one go (Text2Group is one available via the App Store…and its free). We think we have managed to get a few votes on Twitter – although we have no real idea how it works – we did receive a retweet from Martina Navratilova…so must be doing something right!! At least our kids have got the message! Arbroath Photo
Details on how to vote are below :-

We are in the final stages of arranging this – it will take place at the Arbroath Bowling Club in Dishlandtown Street in the middle of November. The exact date has not yet been finalised. Please checkout the Facebook site for up to date details
Sponsored Walk Update The money from the recent Sponsored Walk has now all been collected and the total is around £1200…. with a significant portion of that eligible for Gift Aid. This is likely to make the overall total in the region of £1400. Thanks to all who took part.
Business Sponsorship Options As part of the initiative to raise funds for new courts, we are about to approach local businesses with a view to them providing us with some sponsorship. We did this quite successfully several years ago – and we are hopeful we can do so again. Sponsorship options available can be anything from windbreak advertising through to supplying the balls for a particular match. If you are involved with or have contacts with a local business that you think might be interested we would love to hear from you. A file detailing possible options is attached – Arbroath LTC Sponsorship Options
If you have any questions on any of the above then please do not hesitate to contact Graham Crabb, on 07703 582129, or any member of the Committee. Thank you for your support for the Club during these exciting times.
